Mr. Tenney is a Decatur native and attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois where he graduated in 1979 with a degree in business administration. Upon completion of his undergraduate work, he attended law school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and earned his law degree in 1982. Since earning his law degree he has continuously practiced law in and around Decatur and Macon County.

Mr. Tenney maintains a generally diverse civil practice in which he concentrates on general liability and automobile insurance defense matters, plaintiff's personal injury cases and a wide variety of legal matters for his business clientele.  He regularly acts as a neutral arbitrator, most commonly in the resolution of uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. Although the majority of his practice relates to matters in litigation, it also encompasses business transactional work, real estate, wills and estate planning and probate. Mr. Tenney is a member of the Illinois and Decatur Bar Association.
